Cycle 2 Week7
One of the famous oil spills is called the Amoco Cadiz and it was caused by faliure steering machine and it crashed into the rocks. The damage and the spill was the 1,619,048 barrels of oil and was located in Portsall Rocks, Brittany, France. The story said,"Severe weather resulted in complete breakup of the ship before any oil can be dumped out of the wreck." This shows that there were not only errors in protecting the ship from leaking oil but also while cleaning up the oil. This reminds me of the our oil lab that even thought we didn't refect or notice it, the oil went to the lab tables and they were hard to clean up, and so that shows the problem of cleaning up the surface or land covered in oil.
